An architectural draughtsman and visualizer prepares working drawings and turns designs into realistic 3D images and walkthroughs. This roadmap covers AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, 3ds Max with V-Ray, Lumion and Photoshop.
Understand scales, projections, sections and drawing conventions so you can read an architect's sketch and know how a correct plan and elevation are laid out.
Draw plans, sections, elevations and details with layers, blocks, dimensions and layouts, and plot submission and working drawing sets.
Create a BIM model of the building and generate plans, sections, elevations and schedules from it, a skill more architecture offices ask for each year.
Build quick 3D massing and detailed models in SketchUp to study design options and show them to architects and clients early in the project.
Model in 3ds Max and use V-Ray materials, lights and cameras to produce high-quality exterior and interior still renders for presentations and marketing.
Use Lumion for real-time scenes, landscapes and walkthrough videos, and Photoshop to retouch renders and prepare presentation sheets.
Finish the program and its project — you get the course-completion certificate and a digital completion badge with your name.
Take the certification exam: a theory test on the software of the program and a practical task of the job — at the centre or online.
Pass the exam and get the certified certificate with your marksheet. Anyone can check it online with its QR code.
Your certified badge — add it to LinkedIn and share it anywhere; it opens its own verify page.
Make your CV in your student panel (Career → My CV) — your program, certificates and projects are added for you. Send it as a link with a preview picture, apply to jobs and answer Hire Me requests from companies.

An architectural draughtsman and visualizer does two connected jobs. As a draughtsman you turn the architect's design into working drawings: plans, sections, elevations, door and window details, staircase details and submission drawings. As a visualizer you build 3D models of the same design, apply materials and lighting, and produce photo-realistic renders and walkthrough videos that help clients understand and approve it.
These professionals work in architecture firms, design-and-build companies, real-estate developers and their marketing teams, 3D visualisation studios, interior firms and as freelancers serving local builders and home owners. Many visualisation studios in India also produce renders for overseas clients.
Clients now expect to see a realistic 3D view before they approve a design or buy a flat, and architects need drawings that keep pace with design changes. A person who can handle both the technical drawings and the presentation images is useful to small and large offices alike, and the role can grow towards BIM, visualisation specialist or project coordination work.
Start with drawing basics and AutoCAD, then add Revit for BIM and SketchUp, 3ds Max, V-Ray and Lumion for visualisation. Build a portfolio with drawings and renders of two or three buildings and apply to architecture firms and studios.
SketchUp and 3ds Max are common for modelling, V-Ray for photo-realistic rendering, Lumion for real-time scenes and walkthroughs, and Photoshop for post-production.
The full roadmap above adds up to about 360 hours of training. Most students complete it in seven to nine months, with extra practice time for portfolio projects.
SketchUp is quicker to learn and good for concept models, while 3ds Max gives more control for high-end renders and animation. Many visualizers use both, with V-Ray working inside each.
No. Draughting and visualisation jobs are open to ITI, diploma and other students with strong software skills and a good portfolio. Designing and signing as an architect does require a recognised architecture degree.
Yes. CADD Training Centre offers live online and classroom batches. For rendering software you need a computer with a capable graphics card for smooth practice.
