Allen-Bradley is the controller brand of Rockwell Automation, and its PLCs, including the MicroLogix, CompactLogix and ControlLogix families, run machines, conveyors, packaging lines and process plants in many industries. Engineers program them in ladder logic using Rockwell software such as RSLogix and Studio 5000 Logix Designer, with RSLinx handling communication between the computer and the controller. Automation companies, system integrators and plant maintenance teams need people who can read, write and troubleshoot this logic.
This 60-hour Allen-Bradley PLC course begins with the hardware: CPU, power supply, digital and analog I/O modules, and how push buttons, sensors and contactors are wired to inputs and outputs. You then write ladder programs with contacts, coils, latches and one-shots, use timers, counters, compare and math instructions in practical control tasks, and configure communication with RSLinx to download, monitor and edit programs online. You also see the difference between address-based logic in RSLogix and tag-based logic in Studio 5000, and practise troubleshooting with online monitoring and forcing. Classes are hands-on, held in classrooms at CADD centres and in live online sessions, and you receive a CADD Training Centre certificate that is verifiable online.
PLC skills support roles such as PLC programmer, automation engineer and commissioning engineer. The natural next course is SCADA with AVEVA InTouch.

Allen-Bradley is Rockwell Automation's brand of programmable logic controllers. Its PLCs, such as MicroLogix, CompactLogix and ControlLogix, control machines and processes in plants, and are programmed with RSLogix and Studio 5000 software.
Electrical, electronics, instrumentation and mechatronics students, diploma and ITI holders and plant maintenance staff can join. You should understand basic electrical circuits, relays and contactors.
The Allen-Bradley PLC course is 60 hours, covering PLC hardware, wiring, ladder logic, timers and counters, software configuration, communication and troubleshooting practice.
Yes, both modes run: classroom batches at CADD Training Centre and live online classes. In Allen-Bradley PLC online sessions you write and test ladder logic in the software while the trainer explains each rung.
Yes. Once you finish Allen-Bradley PLC training, CADD Training Centre issues your certificate; an automation company only needs to scan the QR code to see that it is genuine.
PLC skills help in roles such as automation engineer, PLC programmer, maintenance engineer, commissioning engineer and control panel technician in manufacturing, process and system integration companies.
RSLogix 500 programs older controllers such as SLC 500 and MicroLogix using address-based logic. Studio 5000 Logix Designer programs CompactLogix and ControlLogix controllers with tag-based logic.
Yes. SCADA and HMI systems read and write PLC data, so knowing PLC logic, I/O and addressing first makes SCADA much easier. Many students take PLC and then the SCADA InTouch course.
