MXROAD (often written MX-Road) is Bentley Systems' string-based road and highway design software. Highway consultants, DPR preparation teams and contractors in India have used it for years on national highway, state highway and urban road projects to model existing ground, design alignments, build carriageways and calculate earthwork. Bentley now develops its road design workflows in OpenRoads Designer, but MXROAD skills and concepts are still asked for on many projects.
This 40-hour MXROAD course follows the real project sequence: importing survey data and building a triangulated ground model, designing horizontal and vertical alignments, applying superelevation and widening, creating the carriageway and pavement layers, and producing cross sections, earthwork quantities and plan-profile drawings. Every topic is practised hands-on in the classroom at CADD centres or in live online classes, using a sample highway stretch.
The course helps civil engineers move into roles such as highway design engineer, road CAD engineer and DPR engineer. Students who want the newer Bentley platform can continue with OpenRoads Designer, or with Civil 3D for Autodesk-based firms.
Students rate the course after they finish it — their ratings appear here.
MXROAD is used for highway and road design. Engineers use it to model existing ground from survey data, design horizontal and vertical alignments, build carriageways with superelevation and calculate cut and fill quantities.
Civil engineering students, highway engineers, DPR teams and survey or CAD staff in road consultancies. Basic knowledge of surveying and highway engineering is recommended.
The MXROAD course is 40 hours, ending with a complete road design project from survey data to drawings.
Both are available. In live online MXROAD classes you design the sample highway stretch on your PC while the trainer shares the screen, and classroom batches at CADD centres follow the same plan.
Yes. MXROAD learners receive a CADD Training Centre certificate at the end. Show it to a road consultancy, who can confirm it online through the QR code.
Highway design engineer, road CAD engineer, DPR engineer and transportation design assistant roles in road consultancies, contractors and infrastructure firms. Career guidance and placement support are available.
Both design roads. MXROAD is Bentley's string-based road design tool, while Civil 3D is Autodesk's object-based civil design software. Firms choose one depending on their platform, so learning both widens job options.
