A BIM coordinator brings architectural, structural and MEP models together, resolves clashes and keeps the project model on standard. This roadmap covers Revit in all disciplines, Navisworks, Dynamo and cloud collaboration.
Learn walls, floors, roofs, families, views, templates, schedules and sheets in depth, since most coordination starts from a well-built architectural model.
Model columns, beams and foundations in Revit Structure, and ducts, pipes, cable trays and equipment in Revit MEP, so you can judge and fix models from every discipline.
Federate models, set up clash tests and rules, group and assign clashes, publish clash reports and track their resolution across model updates.
Use visual programming to check parameters, rename views and sheets, and automate repetitive Revit tasks that slow down model quality control.
Work on shared Revit models with teams in different locations, manage versions and control how models are published and shared across disciplines.
Finish the program and its project — you get the course-completion certificate and a digital completion badge with your name.
Take the certification exam: a theory test on the software of the program and a practical task of the job — at the centre or online.
Pass the exam and get the certified certificate with your marksheet. Anyone can check it online with its QR code.
Your certified badge — add it to LinkedIn and share it anywhere; it opens its own verify page.
Make your CV in your student panel (Career → My CV) — your program, certificates and projects are added for you. Send it as a link with a preview picture, apply to jobs and answer Hire Me requests from companies.

Entry job — the first steps of the roadmap

A BIM coordinator makes sure that the separate models of a project work together as one. The job includes setting up and following the project's BIM standards, collecting models from architects, structural engineers and MEP consultants, combining them, running clash detection, preparing clash reports, leading coordination meetings and checking that issues are actually fixed in the next model update.
Coordinators also manage file naming, shared coordinates, templates, model quality checks and sharing through cloud platforms. They work in BIM service companies, architecture and engineering consultancies, MEP and construction contractors, and firms delivering coordinated models for projects in India and abroad.
As more projects and clients ask for coordinated BIM, someone has to own the federated model and keep all disciplines aligned. This needs good modelling knowledge in more than one discipline plus clear communication. Most coordinators grow from BIM modeler roles, and this roadmap builds both the technical depth and the coordination tools the role needs.
Most coordinators first work as BIM modelers in one discipline. Learn Revit across architecture, structure and MEP, then Navisworks for clash detection, plus Dynamo and cloud collaboration. Coordinating a complete multi-discipline project model is the best portfolio piece.
A modeler builds the model in one discipline. A coordinator combines all discipline models, finds and manages clashes, enforces standards and works with the different teams to resolve issues.
Coordination usually needs some modelling and project experience. Freshers normally start as BIM modelers and move into coordination after working on real projects.
Revit for the models, Navisworks for clash detection and coordination, Dynamo for automation and a cloud platform such as BIM 360 for sharing and collaboration.
With regular practice the roadmap above usually takes several months. Coordination judgement grows with real project experience.
Yes. CADD Training Centre runs classroom and live online classes for Revit, Navisworks, Dynamo and BIM 360. A reasonably powerful computer is needed for federated models.
