A Level is NIELIT's advanced diploma programme in information technology, aligned by NIELIT with NSQF Level 6. It builds on the O Level foundation and adds data structures through object-oriented programming, computer organisation and operating systems, database technologies, and systems analysis, design and testing, together with specialised papers such as big data analytics using Hadoop and data science using Python, a mini project and a major project.
This 18-month course prepares you for the NIELIT A Level programme across its three semesters. Students who have not done O Level also study the four foundation papers (IT tools and network basics, web designing and publishing, Python programming and IoT), while O Level holders follow the after-O Level route as per NIELIT rules. Teaching combines theory with regular programming labs, SQL work on a real database, data analysis practice and project reviews. Classes are offered in the classroom at CADD centres and as live online sessions, with practice papers before each NIELIT exam cycle.
A Level supports careers as a programmer, database assistant, data analyst trainee or computer teacher, and is a step towards the NIELIT B Level programme or higher studies in computer applications.
Students rate the course after they finish it — their ratings appear here.

A Level supports roles such as programmer, database assistant, data analyst trainee, computer teacher and IT assistant in government and private organisations.
A Level suits learners who want a focused IT qualification, and many take it along with or after a degree. The counsellor can compare it with options such as BCA or a specialised programming course for you.
